Documents: File Manager & Docs App Reviews

The app itself is/was wonderful, but since the last update performance has become so laggy I had to switch to a different PDF viewer/annotation app. It really requires optimisation.

This app is excellent. I use it while away from the office. The editable PDF feature is priceless. Before I had this app we were in Mt. Shasta City driving around looking for a "business center". Finally when to the public library to print, edit, scan and send. The whole process took nearly an hour. This app just takes seconds without the hassle of searching for business centers etc. Just buy it you wont be sorry. Stop dropping dollars to pick up dimes.

This might sound bizarre. But here goes... I noticed that my third-party keyboard (I use Gboard) stopped working! Changing the setting (to allow third-party keyboards) within this app didnt help as Gboard continued to hang and not show up for use in any app - be it Messages, or Mail, etc. I was therefore forced to uninstall Documents (which otherwise seemed promising). That said however, Im still unable to use any third-party keyboard app on my iPhone... Fairly sure this has something to do with Documents and I hope a fix is released. On another note, has anyone else faced this issue? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance - @lord_kartz (twitter).

I have been so much happier by installing this app. I would give it 5*s if they add background playing of music files while we access the phone. Additionally shuffle option would add an advantage.

One of the few apps that have done everything I wanted - easy organization, transfer and backup, and offline device storage of all my docs, sheets, pics, links, PDFs, ebooks, ...... It has the most number of cloud storage transfer apps that I have found (All 5 that I use!), is extraordinarily fast and I can open anything in any any app I own through Open In. I own over 50 apps and this one is one of the few that hasnt disappointed me in some way. Even the most expensive apps couldnt come close to this one. GREAT JOB!! THANKS! Latest version (6) review: Always was great, but NOW unbelievably fast and dependable. LOVE the FAST, FAST, FAST uploading and downloading plus progress!

Readdles line of apps are all so well made and Documents is no exception. This app has become an essential on my iPhone and iPad. And the latest update has made it even better. I love the new tweaks to the UI. Its clear to see that Readdle works hard to make great apps. ??

Pdf files synced with Google Drive get duplicated on my PC (I have downloaded Drive for PC) every time I edit a file from the app on my iPad. For instance, once I highlight a text in the app another pdf file in my PC folder appears out of nowhere with the same name and a (1) at the end of the name, or (2) if I edit it again. Somewhat annoying. Syncing is taking for ever too. App is more intuitive and beautiful now. I used to use it for pdf files only and now I sync my photos with it too.

Unresponsive most the time. It was working absolutely fine, now it takes forever to load, and sometimes crash for no reason.

Before I installed this app I have dreaming about storage app that let me stream my music from Google Drive with cool player and nice front and a lot of futures, but after searching for one month on the app store and downloading a lot of apps I have lost my hope, FINALLY I Found this app, all I have searching for and a lot more! Thank you guys for this awesome app.

Last version is easily the best file and PDF management app on App Store. Unfortunately the performance of the new iteration is less than optimal. The app becomes laggy at times, especially for larger PDF files.

Ive been using this app for several years and its undoubtedly one of the best apps that i always have enjoyed using it, specially this new version. It has a very unique design which makes it very special. But there is a problem that is really annoying. in the new version (documents 6) its consuming a lot of battery (on ios 11.3.2 iPhone 6) for example 60% of battery usage was only for this app for just listening to 5 hours of music on background, which on previous versions this amount of listening to music used around 20% of battery. Please improve battery usage problem. One more thing, thumbs up for such an amazing pdf reader. eagerly waiting to see the problem fixed on your next update. Thanks a lot.

Use it music from old Android phone and docs

I have both Documents and PDF Expert and couldnt be more confused as to how file management is coordinated between them. At first glance it appears they are synced between both apps, yet only one of the apps has its own iCloud Drive folder (a physical folder as opposed to the open-from). Add to this additional devices and FAQ that vaguely mentions files should be copied between local and iCloud Drive, but that just sets up the user for more confusion since presumably only one of those files will be the most recent and unlike the sync capability between Documents and third party clouds, it doesnt appear there is the same capability for iCloud. To put this disaster in a sentence, I dont understand the logic between using local documents that get backed up to iCloud and that of iCloud Drive. It appears I have duplicates but not sure if I created them or not. Finally, the app retains links for items Ive opened or pushed to Documents from other apps. Are these copies of files, hard links to the primary file, or or something else? Readdle, consistency is important an the file system on the apps should appear and function similarly. A graphical depiction of the file system between iCloud, iCloud Drive, and how it functions between apps would be very helpful!

Documents constantly blows me away with just how many features it has -- everything you need! I was pleasantly surprised by the music player and the built in editors. Any hope for *.flac support for the music player? That would make the app perfect in my eyes!
