Documents is a fantastic app, and I have been using it for years.
The latest addition (ver. 6) of opening files in their cloud location, instead of downloading every file, just to find the one youre looking for, is a huge time saver, and makes your workflow, much faster, and natural. As well as the file info feature (file size, dates, etc.), are both, a huge step in the right direction and much needed features, that I requested the developers to add, and they did! And I thank them for that, and we all benefit from them.
But I do have one gripe with the app. The description is very confusing, it says Its a "file manager", and claims "its the Finder for iOS youve always wanted", but its only true, partially, ONLY, for the files that are "locally" on your mobile device, but it in Google Drive, Box and Dropbox, it only opens, rename and delete files. The only files that I have found so far, that are editable, are PDF files.
But a file manager is not a file editor, but basic editing features could be great, but its ok as a "file reader".
But thats not my reason for saying its not a manager, the reason is that its lacking a very basic manager feature - moving files!
And Im not talking about moving files between cloud services, but a simple select file, and move it between folders. The only way to do so from the app, is to "sync folders" to the Documents app, which doesnt make sense, because youd need to sync a whole "tree" of folders with all their content, just to move one file between them :-(
(My last comment is my assumption, as Im not willing to download a whole "tree" of folders to my device).
I really hope this feature will be added in the near future. Without it, we cannot manage our files in the cloud.
